Overview: What are we talking about?
Rev Pets Payments (RPP) is our most comprehensive payment processing integration to date for Revelation Pets customers. Rev Pets Payments’ infrastructure is powered by Stripe, which is an industry-leader for payment management and fraud protection. RPP has an advantage over our other payment integrations because it is the only integration that you can manage from within your Revelation Pets app. Additionally, it is the only integration that offers synced, in-person payments with a card reader (terminal) for our customers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Who is eligible?
Revelation Pets Payments is available in 42 countries and continues to expand. Currently, an integrated credit card terminal is only available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Rates & Fees
To view the current rates for your country, navigate to Account Settings > Integrations > click 'Create an Account' directly in your Revelation Pets app. Once you select your country, the current rates for card present and card not present transactions will be displayed.
Fees are calculated on every transaction and only the net payment less fees will be received by the business.
Fees are also rounded up to the nearest (smallest) currency value. Example calculation:
11.11 payment x .013 percentage fee = 0.14443 +.20 flat fee = 0.34443 rounds up to 0.35 for the fee
In addition to the standard processing rates and fees, the following will apply when applicable:
- Dispute Fee (assessed per disputed payment) = $40.00
- Account Debit Fee (assessed per debit event) = 0.25% of the account debit amount

Payout Schedules
Revelation Pets Payments payout schedules are typically automatically set up on a 2 business day schedule. However, some international accounts and accounts that are identified by Stripe as higher-risk may have different payout schedules, please see below.

Storing One or More Dedicated Cards on File
Revelation Pets Payments includes a "Last Card Used" feature for payments, which remembers the last card that was used on a booking. In addition, users will have the ability to save one (or more) dedicated cards on file so that checkout is quick and easy.
Each owner has a Cards on File section on their profile, which will display all currently saved cards and allow the user to add more. This section only displays on the Business side of the app, and cards can be managed by any business user.
When checking out, the customer's cards on file will display in the payment type dropdown to be selected as needed.
Collecting Payment for Multiple Outstanding Payments in One Transaction
The business can collect payment from a client for any and all bookings that have outstanding balances all in one transaction.
You can access this by clicking on the Outstanding Balance section of the customer's profile.
You will then be able to select the bookings the pet owner wishes to pay, and then choose a payment method and collect payment for all at once.
Ordering Hardware
Currently, Stripe terminals are available for the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Customers in these countries can order a terminal directly from within their Revelation Pets app following the steps below.
1. Navigate to Account Settings >> Integrations >> View Account.
2. On the left-hand side, go to your Payments Dashboard >> Card Readers >> +New Order.
3. In the pop-up window >> Select the hardware you want to purchase >> Complete Recipient and Shipping information >> Click Submit.
4. After clicking Submit, you will be prompted to enter your payment information. Your completed order will display under your “Order History.”
FAQs
1. Are there features of the software that are exclusive to Rev Pets Payments?
Yes! Additional features and functionality are included with our payments integration to optimize your application (for example - saving cards on file and automating deposit payment reminders). You can review features exclusive to Rev Pets Payments HERE.
2. Can I continue to accept cash and check as payment methods if I sign up for Rev Pets Payments?
Absolutely! Any payment types/methods you were using prior to enabling Rev Pets Payments (RPP) in your application will remain available for use. RPP will simply give you more payment tools at your disposal when appropriate for your business.
3. Does Rev Pets Payments have a contractual commitment?
No way! Rev Pets Payments (RPP) does not require a contract or length of time to give integrated payments a try. If you sign up for RPP, and for whatever reason are not satisfied with additional seamlessness the integration offers your application, you can simply disconnect the integration at any time.
4. Is there a monthly fee to use Rev Pets Payments?
No. Rev Pets Payments (RPP) does not charge a monthly fee for having the integration enabled in your application.
5. Is there a per transaction fee or per transaction rate for using Rev Pets Payments?
Yes. When you use Rev Pets Payments (RPP) as your payment method, there will be a per transaction fee. This fee is only applied to transactions that are processed with RPP. Per transaction fees/rates differ per country, you can view fees/rates associated to your country by navigating to Account Settings >> Integrations >> click on “Create an Account” in your application (this will land you on a splash page so you can review details appropriate to your country).
6. If I am a current Stripe customer, do I need to reapply for Rev Pets Payments?
Yes. Rev Pets Payments (RPP) is a Stripe custom integration, which means even if you have an existing Stripe account you will need to apply for a RPP account through your application (app) – How to Sign Up for Rev Pets Payments. Since RPP is fully integrated in your app, logging into Stripe’s 3rd party customer portal will no longer be necessary once your RPP account is fully enabled.
7. Can pet parents leave a tip?
Yes! You can choose to enable tipping in your application. More on the tipping feature HERE.
8. Can I issue a refund directly through Revelation Pets once I am signed up for Rev Pets Payments?
Yes! With Rev Pets Payments you can issue refunds back to a customer’s card directly through your Revelation Pets application - How to Issue a Card Refund.
9. If I was using a different card processor (for example Square), can I use the same hardware (i.e. swiper, terminal etc.) for Rev Pets Payments?
No. The only hardware that integrates with Rev Pets Payments (RPP) is Stripe’s WisePOS E reader. This device can be purchased through your application once your RPP account is fully enabled – How to Order a Card Reader.
10. Do I have to purchase a card reader to use Rev Pets Payments?
Nope! Purchasing a card reader (where available) is optional. Even without a card reader, there are great benefits you can utilize in your application like saving cards on file (manual entry), allowing pet parents to invoiced / pay remotely, and automating payment reminder emails.
11. Can I rent a card reader (WisePOS E)?
No. Card readers are only available for purchase at this time.
12. Can I return my card reader (WisePOS E) if needed?
Yes. In most cases, we honor a 30-day return window.
