Overview: What are we talking about?
There may be times when a business would like to make an exception for a pet parent during a black out date period or times when check blocking is enabled. The Admin Override user permission, would allow admin users to create bookings during black out dates and/or check blocking times if enabled.

How to: Enable Admin Override for a User
Navigate to Account Settings » Users » click on an Admin User » tick the box next to "Can override disabled dates" » click Save
Please note:
- To enable the Admin Override permission, the user must be designated as an Administrator (Admin) user. Standard users cannot have this permission enabled.
- The Admin Override permission does not give the user the ability to override configured time windows, this permission only grants the user to override disabled dates.
How to: Use the Admin Override Permission Once Enabled
Once you have enabled the Admin Override permission on a user's profile, that user has to ability to make exceptions during black out periods and/or during times when check blocking is enabled.
When viewing the Booking Calendar, disabled dates will display as greyed out.
When viewing the pop-up calendar, after clicking the Create a Booking button, disabled dates will display with red diagonal strikethrough.
When creating a booking for boarding or daycare, use your normal booking flow by either starting from the Booking Calendar or the Create a Booking button.
Please note: the user will receive multiple pop-up warnings when creating a booking exception. Booking exceptions will also be logged in the booking changes dropdown.
Please note: Booking exceptions cannot be created in the split run view calendar.
When viewing the Appointment Calendar, black out dates will display as greyed out on the day or week view, and with the corners in red on the expanded month view.
Important:
- When overriding black out dates for the appointment module, you must use the "Create a Booking" button to create the booking.
- If edits need to be made to an appointment exception, you can access the booking details through reporting.
Please note: Only black out dates impact the Appointment calendar. Check blocking dates do not impact the appointment calendar.
