Managing the specific needs of your customers and your customers' pets is paramount for any pet care business. Revelation Pets has a variety of note fields, some customer-facing and some internal, to assist with the management of important information throughout the system. This article will review the various note fields in detail.

Customer Notes
Customer notes are pet-parent specific. These notes are for internal purposes only and are hidden from the online booker and the customer account. Customer notes are displayed on the business side when a booking is created or if you are on the Customer Details page on the customer's profile.

Pet Notes
Pet notes are specific to the animals in your care. Pets have more note fields than customers do, so we will explore each area for pet notes individually below.
- Medical Notes: Medical notes are a great tool to manage any medications or special needs required for an individual pet. Medical notes are visible on the Online Booker, and can also be displayed on the boarding card (if enabled). Medical notes also appear on the Feeding & Medical Reports, and can be selected as a mandatory field. When a pet has a medical note on their profile, the pet will appear in red on the home page as well as on all other reports run in the system.

- Dietary Notes: Dietary notes are a great tool to manage any food preferences, food allergies, and food serving amounts required for an individual pet. Dietary notes are visible on the online booker, and can also be displayed on the boarding card (if enabled). Dietary notes also appear on the Feeding & Medical Report, and can be selected as a mandatory field. When a pet has a dietary note on their profile, the pet will appear in green on the home page as well as on all other reports run in the system. *Please note: if a pet has a medical and dietary note on their profile they will appear in red, because medical notes supersede dietary notes regarding the automatic color coding of pets in the system.

- Behavioral Notes: Behavioral notes are a great tool to manage the actions or temperament for an individual pet. When a behavioral note is on a pet's profile, an ! icon will appear next to the pet's name on the home page widgets, on the booking and appointment calendars, and all reporting. If you hover your cursor over the ! icon you can view the behavior note content easily. *Please note: there is a character limit of 250 characters for the hover functionality. Behavioral notes are visible on the online booker unless they are hidden, and can also be displayed on the boarding card (if enabled). Behavioral notes can be selected as a mandatory field. Behavioral notes can also be added as a displayed column on the Arrivals, Departures, Occupancy, and Appointments reports. On the training report, behavior notes are a permanent column.

To hide behavioral notes on the online booker: Navigate to Account Settings » Online Bookings » tick the box next to "Hide behavioral notes from pet owners"

- General Notes: General pet notes are for internal purposes only and are hidden from the online booker and the customer account. General pet notes are displayed on the business side when a booking is created or if you are on the pet profile's page.
Booking-Specific Notes
There is a note section at the top of every booking which can be used either for internal purposes or can be shared with your clients. This note area is booking specific and this information is not permanently saved on either the customer or pet profile.
Emailed Notes
You can add personal notes to every Booking Confirmation email that you send to your customers.
Activity Page Notes
The activity page is a great tool to update your pet parents or add detailed pet notes to a pet's profile. You can learn more about the Activity Page feature here - Activity Page Tutorial Video. If you are using the activity page for only internal notes (i.e you do not plan on updating your pet parents) you can disable the ability to share information with pet parents by navigating to Account Settings » Customer Communication » Activity Page » tick the box next to "Do not share Activity Page with owners". Alternatively, you could select "Internal Note" on the pet profile if you'd like to provide pet parent updates as well as use the activity page for internal note taking.
Generic Booking Notes
You can add generic notes to every Booking Confirmation email. To update your booking notes content navigate to Account Settings » Terms & Conditions» Booking Notes. Then, navigate to Account Settings » Translations » Booking Email Translation » tick the box next to "Include Booking Notes.
